| William and George Hawley opened their Northfield Pottery in 1863, renamed the firm
as Hawley Brothers in 1868. Specialising in Earthenwares they had a strong local market
in the South Yorkshire steel towns of Rotherham and Sheffield but also exported to America. The firm became a Ltd company in 1897 and subequently became the Northfield Hawley Pottery Co Ltd in 1903 falling victim to the depression after the Great War in 1919 "Asiatic Pheasants" production appears only to have occurred in the Hawley Bros. period |
