| The Patterson family operated the Sherif Hill Poottery throughout the C19th. In their earlier days it was operated in a series of partnerships of which 3 are recorded before George Patterson & Co was established in 1851. Produced domestic earthenwares for the Noth East of England and the Baltic trade. The earlier partnerships were involved in the production of transferware. Of the popular patterns they are known to have produced "Willow" and "Asiatic Pheasants" the latter in the second half of the century. |
